AFSCME
"AFSCME for Biden" was AFSCME's "Get Out the Vote" (GOTV) program for 2020. In the past, AFSCME would use face-to-face interactions via door knocking as their main tool to activate their membership base of 1.4 million working people and their families but due to the events of 2020 and global shutdown AFSCME had to explore and incorporate new methods of membership activation for the 2020 election cycle.
As AFSCME's senior designer and trusted digital marketing strategist, Kris was given the lead creative role for the "AFSCME for Biden" campaign. Kris was responsible for all print, digital, social, and SWAG for the campaign. He also assisted with a majority of the copy writing and share text for social and print materials.
AFSCME GOTV 2022- Social Graphics
At AFSCME the 2022 midterm elections were an interesting mix of foggy despair and vague hopefulness. Folks were worried about the future. I chose to create a series of graphics that I to call retro-modern that mixes the textures of the past with the chic of the now. I kept the images bright, joyous and confident in hope to convey that we'll be okay to the viewer despite what they may be feeling from the social climate at the time.
All printed materials were created using Photoshop, and Indesign.

#fundthefrontlines - Campaign
I created key art for what would become the #fundthefrontlines campaign. AFSCME stood firm in the face unsafe working conditions and demanded that government take action to protect frontline workers (emergency serve, healthcare and hospitality workers).
I viewed the worker as heroes and they we facing an unknown enemy (COVID-19) head on. I wanted the aesthetic of the campaign to convey a gritty confidence like a Frank Miller graphic novel or Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight series. I feel like I nailed it.
The mock up and graphic were created using Photoshop.

Fighting For Our Vote -Campaign
Fighting for Our Vote (FFOV) was a collaborative initiative forged in the wake of the 2020 election. The ACLU, NAACP, AFT, NEA and AFSCME realized that as a collective they would have the greatest impact in moving forward progressive ideas and goals. I was tapped to create the overall brand and feel of FFOV. I wanted the aesthetic to be a hazy with touches cyber wave like Run Lola Run or the movie Judge Dredd.
All materials were created using Photoshop, and Indesign.

Staff the Front Lines -Website
Staff the Front Lines was AFSCME's push to raise awareness about the tens of thousands of open municipal jobs. While I was initially on board to support the campaign helping the program lead sort through themes and narratives to push to the public—I was moved to another campaign as the program was launched.
I felt the website should act as a one-stop-shop for all things STFL related and act as a hub for people looking to find city jobs.
The high fidelity wireframe was created using Photoshop, Illustrator and Figma.

Forms, Mailers, & White Papers
Over the course of decade at AFSCME I made just about anything you can imagine when it comes to print design and printed materials. If you can think it I did it. And if you think "He couldn't possibly have done that"—newsflash: I did that too.
All materials were created using Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator.
