chitra.MOVES
Chitra Subramanian is a professional dancer, choreographer, and educator residing in Washington, DC since 2002. She is a Pittsburgh native, originally from South India. She currently teaches, choreographs, and performs with an emerging collective of artists, chitra.MOVES. Her aesthetic draws from Hip Hop and Indian Classical foundations to tell stories, elevate artists, and meaningfully engage unseen and new audiences.
For almost 20 years, Chitra has shared her love for dance through teaching, choreography, performance, and learning. Kris has assisted Chitra in branding her artist collective, chitra.MOVES and advising her on her social strategy including best practices and promotional strategies.
Rooting the Dance - Promo Graphics
Rooting the Dance is the lynchpin of Chitra.MOVES platform. Rooting the Dance is a weekly hip-hop dance class that highlights different sub-genres within the hip-hop ecosystem.
While already having success from her engaging personality and visceral dance narrative she wanted to expand her reach in social media. I produced content on a monthly basis for the Rooting the Dance.

chita.Moves - website
Chitra needed a new website for her growing platform but she also wanted the ability to make updates herself. I suggested she use Wix as it is a fairly simple platform that allows novices in the web design space to feel comfortable utilizing the platform.
Upon completing the site I created several templates (forms, light-boxes, ticketing pages) for Chitra to promote different actions and events within the Wix platform to external audiences.
